How this preset was checkedUpdated August 12, 2026. The loaded list was counted against the NBA's 30-team, two-conference structure and checked for equal starter weights across all franchises. Source: NBA.com league list, checked August 12, 2026.
NBA Teams Spin The Wheel includes the full 30-team league
The starter list follows NBA.com's 30-team league overview. Every franchise begins with equal weight, so a spin selects from the eligible names rather than predicting which team is stronger. The league is organized into two conferences and six divisions:
| Conference | Divisions | Teams on the wheel |
|---|
| Eastern | Atlantic, Central, Southeast | 15 |
| Western | Northwest, Pacific, Southwest | 15 |
Use Options to make a conference-only or division-only wheel. Rename the shared setup so viewers know the pool is no longer all 30 teams.
Create a matchup without pretending to predict a game
For a neutral video-game matchup or debate prompt, turn Remove winner on and spin twice: the first result is Team A, the second Team B. Results keeps the order visible. If home court matters to your activity, decide in advance whether the first or second result receives it. The wheel does not use standings, injuries, schedules, betting lines, or head-to-head records; the result is a pairing, not a forecast.
Four formats for a basketball night
- Franchise mode: accept one team and use it for a season or rebuild challenge.
- Trivia ladder: spin a team, then answer a question about its city, history, or players from a sourced question set.
- League tour: keep Remove winner on and visit all 30 franchises without repeats.
- Design prompt: use the team name as inspiration for an original color or mascot exercise without copying protected artwork.
A spin is more fun when the task attached to the result is already written. Otherwise the group spends the next five minutes negotiating what “getting the Knicks” actually means.
Make a public draw easy to audit
- Show whether all 30 teams or a subset is loaded.
- Open Advanced and confirm the displayed percentages.
- State whether repeats are allowed.
- Use the Results card to read the outcome; 30 slices make disc labels compact.
- Download the round history if later matchups depend on the sequence.
The themed court rim and team artwork help recognition, but only the option and weight data affect eligibility and chance.
Equal odds are a rule choice, not league parity
Each team starts at 3.33% because the template treats all 30 names equally. Weighting teams by record, draft odds, seed, or another statistic creates a different model and requires a dated source plus an explanation of the calculation. Do not adjust a few weights informally and still describe the wheel as equal. If you need the real NBA Draft Lottery, use the official procedure; this template does not reproduce its rules or probabilities.
Why use this template rather than a random number
The wheel exposes all eligible teams, shows their equal percentages, gives every slice relevant artwork, and records repeated rounds. Users can narrow the pool, import another league, position the pointer for the stage design, and share the setup without rebuilding it. The advantage is an understandable selection workflow, not insider basketball knowledge.
League source and independent-use note
The 30-team scope was checked against NBA.com's league overview. Team names, league structure, logos, and related marks belong to their owners. This independent picker is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NBA or its teams, and it should not be used for wagering or official competition administration.
